![]() ![]() This study aimed to assess the usefulness of using QR codes with information to promote women’s health in the context of a pandemic. Moreover, although the importance of assessing these interventions from the users’ perspective has been stated, research carried out from this point of view is still scarce. Although some authors have stated that developing specific content for women on how to cope with health problems could be an effective way to prevent problems, especially during pandemics, there is little research regarding the use of QR codes to promote health during a pandemic, and even fewer studies are focused on women. QR codes have played an integral role during the pandemic in many sectors, but their use has been limited in the health care sector, especially by patients. The article also provides high-level indications for the evaluation of the technological frame required to implement the identified possibilities of use. ![]() Therefore, its launching among professional and final users is quite simple. For its characteristics, we are addressing systems with low barriers to entry and high scalability for its deployment. This article points out some applications to make the most of this technology for these domains in a straightforward manner. Regretfully, its potential has not yet been fully exploited in the domains of food science and nutrition. Due to its philosophy, based on the automatic recognition of messages embedded on simple graphics by means of common devices such as mobile phones, QR codes are very convenient for the average user. ![]() These systems, combined with Web platforms, can provide us with advanced services that are already currently broadly used on many contexts of the common life. QR codes opens up the possibility to develop simple-to-use, cost-effective-cost and functional systems based on the optical recognition of inexpensive tags attached to physical objects. ![]()
